Over the weekend much of the world was treated to a penumbral lunar eclipse including myself. Fortunately, the skies were clear and the eclipse reached its peak not long after moonrise so I was able to watch the shadow as it slowly receded and the moon gradually returned its full brilliance.
In case you don’t know a penumbral lunar eclipse is basically when the moon skims along the edge of the earth shadow. Although not quite as spectacular as a total lunar eclipse it was certainly worth the effort to capture this celestial event. And so here are a handful of photos of the shadow on the moon.
